R. Brent Harbin, DPM

Dr. Brent Harbin grew up in Blountville, Tennessee. He attended the University of Tennessee and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida in 1998.

Dr. Harbin remained in south Florida where he completed a 2 year comprehensive foot and ankle surgical residency program at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. As part of his residency training, Dr. Harbin participated in rotations, clinics, and surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.

Upon completion of residency training, Dr. Harbin started a private practice in Oreeneville, Tennessee where he practiced for 2 years. Dr, Harbin accepted an invitation from Greeneville Orthopedic Clinic in the fall of 2002 to join their practice and practiced there until the spring of 2004. Having always hoped to live and practice in Maryville, Dr. Harbin moved from Greeneville to Maryville in the spring of 2004 to take over the practice of the late Dr. Harry Casson.

Dr. Harbin is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Tennessee Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Harbin has been married to his wife Robin, a Blount county native, for 12 years. They have 2 children and reside in Maryville. They attend church locally and enjoy many outdoor activities such as bicycling, camping, swimming, and horseback riding.

David L. Franklin. D.P.M.

Dr. David Franklin was born in Maryville and grew up on a dairy farm in Greenback, Tennessee. He attended Maryville College obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 2002.

Dr. Franklin began his post-graduate education with a one year internship in podiatric medicine at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He continued his education with a 2 year comprehensive residency in foot and ankle surgery through the Veterans Affairs Maryland Healthcare System. During his training, Dr. Franklin spent one year at the nationally respected National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He has had extensive training in forefoot reconstructive surgery as well as diabetic limb salvage surgery. He served as Chief Resident in his final years of training and oversaw 11 other residents.

Dr. Franklin returned home and entered practice in 2005 and joined Foothills Podiatry in July 2006. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Tennessee Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Franklin has been married to his wife, Yvette (a native of South Africa), for 7 years and they have 2 children. They are active in their church and enjoy family activities such as hiking and horseback riding.
